PI – Polyimide
Polyimide, also known under the trade name Kapton, is easily used up to 250°C. This synthetic material does not have a visible melting point or glass transition temperature, which is why it retains its shape so well. In addition, it is self-extinguishing and electrically isolating.
Laser cutting polyimide
Polymide can be precisely laser cut up to a thickness of 1 millimeter on the µm scale. Because the material is lasered contactless and power free, it doesn’t tear. If you want to modify polyimide foil, laser cutting is your option.
Why polyimide?
- Pressure resistant and creep resistant
- Heat resistant
- Electrically isolating properties
- Suitable for semi-conductor and micro-electronics industry
